Sharp increase in child obesity-related hospital admissions
There has been a four-fold increase in the number of children admitted to hospital for problems
related to obesity in England and Wales between 2000 and 2009. In 2009 there were 3,806 children
admitted to hospital for obesity-related conditions - compared with a mere 872 in 2000. More>>

SLM secures Cotswold contract
Sports Leisure Management (SLM) has won the contract to run leisure and cultural services owned by
Cotswold District Council. The 10-year deal includes leisure centres at Cirencester, Chipping

New Orkney pool to open this month
A new pool is set to open to the public on 22 June on the island of Orkney. The new Pickaquoy Centre
